Add a watermark to a PDF
Stamp a diagonal line of text across every page, such as Confidential, Draft or who the copy is for.
Files are processed on our server and deleted automatically after one hour.
When to add a watermark
A watermark tells anyone who sees the document what it is and what it's for. Common uses:
- Draft on a contract or proposal that isn't final yet.
- Confidential on internal documents.
- Copy of an ID for a specific purpose, for example "For the rental of 5 Herzl St. only". If the copy leaks, it can't easily be reused for anything else. This is one of the simplest ways to reduce the risk of identity misuse.
- Sample on designs, photos or reports you're showing before payment.
Choosing the strength
Light keeps the document comfortable to read and suits drafts. Strong suits ID copies and samples, where the goal is to make reuse obvious.
How protective is it?
The watermark is drawn into every page, so it can't be switched off in a normal PDF reader. Someone with editing software and some patience could remove it, so it deters misuse rather than preventing it. To stop people from opening the file at all, add a password with Password protect PDF. To remove specific details completely, use Redact PDF.

Frequently asked questions
Can I write the watermark in Hebrew?
Yes. Hebrew, English and mixed text all render correctly.
Can someone remove the watermark?
It's drawn into the page, so it can't be switched off in a normal reader, but someone with editing software can remove it. It deters casual copying rather than preventing it.
Can I use a logo instead of text?
Not on this page yet. Text watermarks only for now.
