Transcribe audio and video to text
Upload a recording and download the full transcript with timestamps, as a Word document, plain text or subtitles. No sign-up, no login and no payment screen after the upload. Hebrew, English and more, up to 60 minutes per file.
Files are processed on our server and deleted automatically after one hour.
When it helps
- Long voice messages: a five-minute WhatsApp voice note becomes text you can read in ten seconds, search and copy from.
- Calls and meetings: a call with a lawyer, an accountant or a landlord, or a recorded team meeting, becomes a written record. No need to listen again to find what was said.
- Lectures and interviews: students, journalists and researchers get text with timestamps, so it's easy to jump back to the exact moment in the recording.
- Video subtitles: choose SRT and upload the file to YouTube, Facebook or a video editor. Most social video is watched with the sound off.
How to get a more accurate transcript
- Pick the spoken language. Automatic detection works, but setting the language is more accurate, especially for short recordings.
- Record close to the speaker. A phone on the table facing the speaker beats a phone in a pocket or across the room.
- Cut background noise. Air conditioning, music and traffic hurt recognition more than anything else.
- Check names and numbers. First names, street names and amounts are where most mistakes happen. The timestamp next to each paragraph makes it easy to go back and listen.
Longer than 60 minutes?
Cut it into parts in any audio editor or phone app and transcribe each part. You can then combine the Word documents, or save them as PDFs and join them with Merge PDF.
After transcribing
Need the transcript in another language? Save the Word document as PDF and translate it with Translate PDF. Want to send the summary as a file that can't be edited? Word to PDF.

Frequently asked questions
Is it really free?
Yes. You get the whole transcript, not a preview, without signing up, logging in or paying. The site is funded by ads. There is a fair-use limit of 5 files an hour, and on very busy days the shared daily allowance can run out until the next morning.
Does it work in Hebrew?
Yes. Choose Hebrew as the spoken language for the best result. The Word document comes out right to left, with English words and numbers in order.
How accurate is it?
Clear recordings of one person speaking, like a voice note, a lecture or an interview, come out very accurate. Phone-quality calls, background noise, people talking over each other and slang lower the accuracy, so check names and numbers.
Does it say who is speaking?
Not yet. The transcript is continuous text with a timestamp every paragraph, without speaker names.
How long can a recording be?
Up to 60 minutes and 100 MB per file, 5 files per hour.
What happens to my recording?
The audio is sent to a speech-recognition service to be transcribed and the files are deleted from our server after one hour. See the privacy policy.
